• Requirement The parapets and flat roofed area on this historic building had a traditional covering of code 7 lead sheet over timber boards. The old roof had started to deteriorate and was failing in a number of areas, particularly at the roll joints and junctions, with some indications of corrosion on the underside. Repair was necessary, however fire safety concerns meant traditional patch repairs, which require heat, was not an option. The cost of lead was also a factor, having tripled in cost over the previous 12 months.
